Podcast

The original, developing, baby vision of A Person Who was just a blog in mind. A blog where I, Kat, would interact with people that have experiences worth sharing, experiences from people that may or may not want to share openly if their true identity were revealed.

There was no agenda, other than giving people a platform to share their stories in a place where they could say it like it is, and not worry about how they might be judged for their true feelings, thoughts, or fears. They could just be…real. About what they’ve been through, about how they thought the world treated people like them, and about the ways they wanted to make society a better place for them and others.

Well, that is still the vision, but it has since matured and developed to include the podcast. And there’s something to be said about capturing people’s unscripted and raw confessions, feelings, and emotions. Most people have seen a movie, a documentary, or maybe even a commercial that’s had them tear up (you know you have!). The questions that are asked are not scripted beforehand. We start having regular, normal conversation (or as “normal” as I can make small talk), and we let the conversation grow organically. Between takes, I, the host, or our social media Director, Morgan, will usually compliment the interaction with interesting, impactful questions on aspects that were covered during our talk. The guest is also encouraged to ask me questions, because even though there is a host and guest formula, that doesn’t mean it needs to be a super formal, journalistic interviewer to interviewee dynamic. We want our podcast to be more relaxed than that, and to be able to be fun and silly when appropriate, and touching, serious, and meaningful when necessary.

We are excited to see how much this podcast grows and transforms. What guests will be on next? What life experiences or current event topics would you like to share or see? How much impact can we have to positively change the world? We shall find out!
